Day 66. 4 Nov. Manila.

November 4th, 2009 @ kohadmin  -  10 Comments

We finally touched down in Luzon, our final leg. From Bantangas to Manila, we went thru Typhoon Santi when we had to stop for a day at Punta Fuego. Club Punta Fuego sponsored our stay at the nice resort. The day after was sunny but there were huge swells caused by the typhoon.

Manila Bay is unfortunately very polluted. Island Cove Resort sponsored our stay at Kawit. We arrived in Mall of Asia and was welcomed by Primer Group, ROX and Columbia.

Our 2 nights’ stay in Manila is sponsored by Traders Hotel.

We have done 2,200km. 800km to go. But it won’t be a walk in the park. Northeast monsoon has started. That means more headwind and waves. We hope there won’t be anymore typhoon ahead.

Stay tuned for the final 3 weeks…

I just wonder how strong the prevailing winds are over the north, i wonder if it’s holding the expedition at bay like one last strong obstacle with just a few kilometers from the finish line around the corner. I’d say congratulations to the team! By tomorrow they will be done! Until the next Expedition.

I assume the expedition has reached Pugudpud by now. Nothing to it but to keep on paddling. How about a CIRCUMNAVIGATION?

Approaching Lingayen Gulf. Will the Expedition go SE to Dagupan City or paddle straight across to Bauang? Looks like a 25k crossing…

I met a US Marine who mentioned their convoy passed through Philippine waters on the way to Iraq. His one comment was that the ocean was the most polluted there.

Keep on paddling. You guys are having quite an adventure.

Hi Swee, you really have a lot of friends, corporate supporters and even political figures out there cheering you on. You’re truly a world class adventurer. Many of our students working on their journals about your 4 values wrote that you are very brave and courageous and not afraid of even the typhoon! They want to learn from you.:-)
Glad that you are on your final leg now in Luzon. Cheers buddy!
