Day 7. Santa Cruz – Dumalag Point

September 6th, 2009 @ kohadmin  -  One Comment

We woke up at 5.30am which is pretty late by our routine so far. But we could afford some sleep after yesterday’s 52km.

Today’s distance was 27km to Dumalag Point where Randy, Sonni, Toby & Buko will join us for the 11km tomorrow to Davao.

Governor Miguel Dominguez has again come in with his relentless support. He has asked the owner of Peal Farm Marina Club to sponsor rooms for the team for a night. He has also organized the media welcome party. We owe him a lot.

We crossed 14km to Dumalag while Arnel hugged the coast all the way. We arrvied at 12.30pm. We got a nice spacious hut.

Randy and the rest arrived later. We traded stories. Toby & Buko had their own adventure in trying to rescue the support boat earlier near Tinaca Point. The boatman turned back twice to Glan due to big waves. They managed to reach the boat on the 3rd attempt.

It was Congressman Anton Lagdameo who sponsored our welcome at the Pearl Farm marina thru Governor Dominguez’s intercession.
