My First Test

The past 2 months have been crazy. I am running on 5th gear again. Leaving on 26 Aug to Davao and expedition is scheduled to begin on 29 Aug. But with the ship’s delay, I am not surprised if we have to postpone again by a day or two. The ship is scheduled to sail (with our 2 kayaks) from Singapore on 22 Aug and ETA in Davao is 27 Aug.

In the meantime, preparations is ongoing in ernest. Chasing some potential sponsors for a reply, finalizing website design, printing sponsor stickers for the kayak and uniform, coordinating with ROX and Toby for the press conf on 19 Aug etc etc. I don’t even have time to go to toilet !

Well, that’s the expedition life. It’s all about managing chaos. Fulfiling a dream means making sacrifices.

We finally chose the kayak for my partner Buzzy. It’s Roxas by Kayakasia. Due to expedition shortage of funds, Huey has kindly arranged to organize a 1-day paddle to raise half the amount and Buzzy will raise the other half.

As of now, the expedition has sufficient funds to complete only half the journey to Boracay. We are hoping the press conf will garner more awareness and support so that we can secure more funds to complete the entire journey.

Keeping my fingers crossed. Stay tuned.

First of all good luck with your project.
I have been living many years in the Philippines and it’s a kayak heaven.

I have been planning two years ago to do a little bit the same…but lack of finance made me stay and paddle overhere in Europe. Still my planning was around Mindanao and, kayak over to Negros (were i have been living) and then further north towards Cujo and Palawan.

I studied it intense and it can be done. Make sure you have the good charts and streamatlasses.

Then last year i did paddle overhere in Europe to do a 4200+Km trip to Moldova.

So if you need help or want to know things/advice. I am willing to help.
I know you will have lots of hands around you, still it’s a offer.

Make sure you have everything tide on your deck. Also your pump and have elastics on your sunglasses as well..One wave and it will be all swept off.

I will follow you and good luck.

    Regards Jörgen
