There are a lot of skin boat designs out there, but ours are the only ones to prove themselves in the most difficult paddling races in North America. When you're looking at boat designs, don't just take the designer's word on how well the boat paddles; look at how many races they've won or Fastest Known Times (FKT) they set. You can check out a list of our race results HERE
Our kits remove all the hard work of building a boat. I like to say that if you can tie your shoe you can build one of our boats. Average construction time is around 40 hours, and unlike every other type of construction, there's very little mess and no nasty chemicals to deal with.
My goal has always been to promote the building and paddling of skin on frame boats. To that end, I've decided to offer the plans to all my models free. Simply choose the design then go to the store to download the full ePlan, including our building manual.
Designed for guiding clients out to Maine's Eastern Egg Rock to see puffins. The boat is extremely stable and easy to paddle. It's the 'Jack of all trades' in our lineup, and will handle everything from afternoon surf-sessions to multi-day camping trips.
An easy to build, Greenland style kayak.
The Challenger 170 is a scaled down version of the Challenger 195. It was designed for off-shore racing in the "Sea Kayak" class. A great boat for a daily work out or weekend camping.
Designed to compete in the 300 mile Everglades Challenge, this boat fits into the Fast SeaKayak class. Even though the boat is close to 20 feet long, the pronounced hollow in the bow along with significant rocker lets this boat turn easily.
